Bring a picnic or shop locally for everything you need.  August's citywide yard sales and downtown Art-in-the-Park show bring a variety of artists and artisans from around the state.  Saturday's 8-2 summer farmers market is a treat for cooks and fresh-food lovers of all types and you'll find plants, flowers and crafts there as well.

Otter Lake recreation area, seven miles north of Stanley, is just one of the additional nearby areas offering fishing, hunting opportunities and recreational trails.
