Cadott,
"half way between the Equator and North Pole,"
on State Hwy 29 has been attracting visitors since the early 1830s when
fur traders came to Jean Baptiste Cadotte's trading post
on the Yellow River.
Travelers today will find a full range
of services including a motel, restaurants, grocery, bakery,
cheese houses, and more.
Cadott celebrates its history with
a wide variety of places to visit. A written historical walking tour is available. Riverview Park is home to the Baker School Museum. In addition, the park has historical and Yellow River interpretive signs providing an insight into the unique rock formations along the river. The Cadott Historical Museum has numerous unusual exhibits, family histories and scrapbooks. The ZCBJ Lodge Hall (Bohemian Hall) and Bohemian Cemetery are listed in the State and National Registries of Historic Places. More recent history is remembered with the Wisconsin Veterans Tribute near the intersection of Hwy 29 and 27.
