Chippewa Falls Historic Walking Tour

The history of Chippewa Falls dates back to 1836 when the Louis Damarais and Jean Brunet families each constructed log cabins on the south side of the Chippewa River at the falls and started a settlement.

The historic walking tour leads you through these years by featuring sites of historical significance including Marsh Rainbow Arch Bridge, Northern States Power Company and Dam , and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

A brochure listing the sites, a brief history of each, and their map location is available through the Chippewa Falls Main Street Association or many downtown businesses.

Site Funded by The Family and Community Network,
Chippewa Falls 2010, and the Chippewa County Tourism Council
